Chethanaham bikkawe kamman wadami

“Chethanaham bikkawe kamman wadami.
Chethaithwa kamman karothi kayena wachaya manasa”

Dear Bikkhus, I introduce thought as karma. It is after having thought that we engage in action physically, verbally and mentally.
( Nibbedhika sutraya)

  1. My understanding is that the Chethanawa is not really the thought. Intention or volition is more appropriate I assume.

    1. I tend to disagree with your comment. Let me explain why. Intention is an action. Sounds like a mental action to do or not do something. When someone achives the arahath status it is said that he is superseded karma. How does this happen?. I leave it to you to think unbiasely. I am ready to explain the true meaning of this dhamma preaching over a telephone call. I am contactable on 0094759004100.

  4. Thought are everywhere. But, intention of that thought is the key. For example thought of giving is not the issue but the intention. Is it for personal glory or just to give.
